DRY WEATHER NEEDED FOR SNOWSTORM

Snowstorm is on course for a massive step up in grade in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on Saturday - weather permitting.

Michael Bell`s progressive juvenile landed a well-contested nursery under top weight on Town Moor last month to earn a tilt at the last Group One contest in Britain this season.

'Snowstorm is an intended runner at Doncaster but it depends on the weather,' Bell said this morning. 'He wouldn`t run if there was any mention of soft. He wants good ground or firmer.

'The horse is very well and on the upgrade. I would like to run him but if not he`ll wait for the Zetland Stakes (at Newmarket on October 28th).'

Riding arrangements have yet to be finalised for the grey son of Environment Friend.

'Michael (Fenton) is suspended so we`ll wait and have a look at the declarations before deciding on a jockey,' the Newmarket trainer added.

The going at Doncaster is currently described as good to soft, good in places.
