DROWNE PLANNING RETURN TO THE SADDLE

Sidelined English jockey Steve Drowne is hoping to return to action next month, it was revealed today.

Drowne has been out of action since breaking his left leg after being thrown on the way to the start of a maiden race at Folkestone on June 30th.

Drowne said: 'It`s all going well at the moment.

'I`m back in the gym nearly every day working with weights and on the rowing and running machines just getting the muscles going again.

'I`m also doing plenty of walking.

'I`ve got to see the specialist again on October 10th and hope to get the all-clear to be able to ride towards the end of the month.'

Drowne had been on target to beat his previous-best tally of 57 winners having had 31 successes this season including Cd Europe in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.
