Jockey Steven Drowne was dealt a hefty blow at Folkestone today when suffering a suspected broken left ankle.
Drowne, already on the 30-winner mark for the year, had made it 31 when Shudder coasted home in the Sponsor A Race Claiming Stakes.
But as he and the untractable TG's Girl were going to post for the Arena Leisure Maiden Stakes, the filly ran into the rails leaving Drowne in agony on the ground.
After receiving treatment at the course, he was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further assessment.
Another rider in the wars was Neil Pollard, who was stood down for the rest of the day after receiving a kick in the groin when Striding King tragically broke a leg.
