DOZEN LEFT IN CURRAGH CLASSIC

There were 12 horses left in Sunday's Budweiser Irish Derby at today's declaration stage.

Michael Jarvis has supplemented his runaway French Derby winner Holding Court to the field and Sir Michael Stoute still has Sagitta 2000 Guineas winner King's Best in the Curragh Classic.

Vodafone Derby winner Sinndar and Holding Court will both be bidding for the US1million bonus on offer to any horse who wins either the Derby in France or England and goes on to take the Irish version.

However, the bonus only stands if at least eight horses line up on Sunday.

Sinndar's trainer John Oxx has also kept Takali, Korasoun and Raypour in the race while Dermot Weld is responsible for Media Puzzle and Muakaad, who holds an alternative engagement in the Budweiser International Stakes later on the card.

However, Weld has taken Grand Finale - the only horse to beat Sinndar on the track - out of the race.

'He just wants a little more time,' Weld revealed.

'Media Puzzle and Muakaad are both possible runners and we will make a decision closer to the time after we have taken a look at the ground and seen how the race is shaping up.'

A quartet of Aidan O'Brien runners - Ciro, Glyndebourne, Shakespeare and Shoal Creek - completes the field.
