Montjeu is not certain to run in next Saturday`s Esat Digifone Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown, it was revealed today.
The John Hammond-trained four-year-old was expected to go off a hot favourite for the 10-furlong Group One contest after a number of highly-impressive victories including in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot in July on his latest racecourse appearance.
However, Hammond warned: 'Montjeu is not a certain runner in Ireland.
'He has had a slight training setback and is now only a possible runner next Saturday.
'We will review the situation in the middle of the week.'
