Top weight Dorans Pride is set to miss Saturday's Whitbread Gold Cup at Sandown, it was announced today.
Trainer Michael Hourigan, who also has Tell The Nipper in the #115,000 contest, had wanted fast ground for Dorans Pride.
But, with the going described as good to soft, soft in places on the chase course at Sandown, Hourigan said: "Tell The Nipper will arrive at Sandown today but Dorans Pride has stayed at home."
Young Kenny now heads the weights for the big race on 11st 10lbs, the weights rising by 5lbs.
