Doctor Goddard has become the latest horse to come in for strong support in Saturday's Tote Gold Trophy at Newbury.
The Philip Hobbs-trained novice, a winner at Uttoxeter in January and third to Monsignor in the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown last time, has today been backed down to 7-1 from 12-1 with William Hill, to 8-1 from 11-1 at Coral, to 8-1 from 9-1 with Ladbrokes and to 8-1 from 10-1 with the Tote.
Hobbs said of his charge: "He's very well. He's got bottom-weight so I think he's got a good each-way chance.
"It's very competitive but it is a £100,000 race."
Richard Johnson will take the ride on the five-year-old.
Irish raider Back On Top, who attracted plenty of cash on Tuesday, has been clipped to 10-1 from 12-1 with Hills and Ladbrokes having been 20-1 with the Leeds firm earlier in the week.
And the sponsors have also trimmed top-weight Blue Royal to 5-1 from 7-1.
