Tony Dobbin, who has been on the injured list since the middle of last month, is set to return to action at Newcastle on Saturday.
Dobbin will ride Royal Curragh for Nicky Richards in the opening Gosforth Park Novices' Hurdle.
The jockey suffered a broken arm and dislocated collarbone in a fall at Doncaster but he began riding out last Wednesday and he said today: "I'm coming along really well.
"I had originally intended to return at Musselburgh this week but I have decided to postpone this to give me a proper chance of being fully fit on Saturday.
"Apart from Royal Curragh I may also have a ride at the meeting for Mick Easterby. I'm just taking it steadily."
