Diamond White looks set to be campaigned in Europe for the remainder of the season after disappointing on her first attempt on dirt in America on Monday night.
Mick Ryan`s tough filly finished fifth in the Grade Three Arlington Matron Handicap over nine furlongs in Chicago and will now return to her trainer`s Newmarket base.
After her creditable fourth on turf in the Beverly D Stakes at Arlington last month connections of the five-year-old mare were considering leaving her in the United States.
However, Ryan today said: 'She didn`t like the dirt so she`s coming home. She`s due back on Friday.
'She`s come out of it unscathed and will be campaigned with Longchamp in mind.
'There are a couple of fillies` races for her before she goes for the race she won last year (Prix de l`Opera) on Arc day. That will be the obvious choice and she should get her favoured soft ground by then.'
Ryan also had news of his improving three-year-old Polar Red who scored in good style on heavy going at Haydock Park last Saturday.
'He`ll probably run in a conditions race at Doncaster on Friday if the weather arrives,' he said. 'He wants it good or softer.
'If the ground isn`t right for him then he could go for the Courage Best Stakes at Newbury (September 16th). He`s been put up from 100 to 105 so it would be asking a lot of a three-year-old to carry a 5lb penalty in a race like that.
'Those are the two races I have in mind for him. He`s not in the Cambridgeshire.'
