Frankie Dettori will have two rides when he returns to action at Newmarket today. Atlantis Prince in the Tote Exacta Conditions Stakes will be the Italian`s first mount in public since he broke his ankle in the plane crash that claimed the life of pilot Patrick Mackey on June 1st.
And the colt`s trainer Sean Woods is hopeful that his charge can give Dettori a victory on his comeback.
'He`s a nice two-year-old, he did everything positively first time up at Epsom,' Woods said.
Dettori himself has spoken of his fears that he may have 'lost his bottle' when he returns to the saddle.
However Woods is confident that Dettori will soon be back to his best.
The trainer said: 'He`s a great jockey and I`m sure he`ll be fine.
'Frankie`s coming back from a plane crash not a horse-riding accident - people have got to put that into perspective.'
Dettori`s other mount at Newmarket will be the David Barron-trained Dim Sums in feature Tote Scoop6 Nursery.
Among the gelding`s rivals will be Foodbroker Fancy, ridden by Ray Cochrane who was injured in the same accident.
Dettori had originally been due to return at Goodwood yesterday but his mount Maidaan was not declared for the Theo Fennell Lennox Stakes.
Barathea Guest is on course for the Juddmonte International Stakes at York later this month, it was revealed today. The George Margarson-trained colt finished a close fifth in a German Group One contest last time, his first start since disappointing in the Vodafone Derby.
