Alan Dempsey is out of action at Catterick today and will miss tomorrow's racing after a delayed reaction to a fall at Kelso.
He was hurt when he was unseated by Tennessee Twist on yesterday's programme at the Borders track.
Dempsey was able to ride in the following race but overnight his leg swelled up alarmingly.
"Alan was planning to ride work this morning for us but was unable to in the end," said trainer Mary Reveley. "His thigh has blown up badly and the doctor said he needs some rest.
"He won't be riding tomorrow but goes to see the doctor again on Monday and might be able to resume then."
Dempsey was booked for five rides at Catterick, including the strongly-fancied Supreme Fortune, trained by Reveley, in the opening event. Reveley's conditional jockey Tony Ross takes over on Supreme Fortune.
Richard Guest is another missing from today's programme.
Flu was given as the reason for his absence from Fireside Girl in the first race. Guest, however, is expected to ride tomorrow.
