DAVENPORT TO MISS TIPPERARY

Davenport Milenium will not make his eagerly awaited seasonal debut in the John James McManus Memorial Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday, writes Alan Magee.

Trainer Willie Mullins broke the news at Thurles racecourse this afternoon saying, `Davenport Milenium is just not quite ready for a run at the moment. He needs another few bits of work to put him right.`

The six-year-old gelding is currently one of the market leaders for the 2003 Smurfit Champion Hurdle following two high profile victories this spring at the Punchestown Festival.
