Dance On The Top got favourite backers off on the right foot at Kempton Park today.
The 5-2 favourite made all the running under John Reid and shrugged off the persistent newcomer Gleaming Blade to score by one and three quarter lengths in the Platinum Security Maiden Stakes.
Some tidy sums had been left in bookmakers' satchels at Doncaster when Ed Dunlop's charge, a Vodafone Derby entry, could only finish sixth at odds of 6-4 on his debut.
Bruce Raymond, representing owner Khalifa Sultan, said: 'He was a much shorter price than we expected for his debut.
'He'd been working well at home and showing a lot of speed but he just wasn't ready for it and Ed's horses weren't running well at that time.
'He's had a nice break since then and should be able to do even better when he steps up to a mile.'
