DALY DELAYS DECISION

Trainer Henry Daly will wait until as late possible before finalising weekend plans for his three handicap chasers Edmond, Lancastrian Jet and Step On Eyre.

The trio are all entered for the Singer & Friedlander National Trial at Uttoxeter, while Edmond and Lancastrian Jet are also in the Agfa Diamond Handicap Chase at Sandown.

Daly is delaying a decision because Edmond, impressive winner of the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow in December, must have soft ground.

"I really just can't say what my running plans will be at the moment," he said.

"I'd like to run them but it really depends on the weather over the next few days. Edmond must have it soft.

"The way things are going it looks like it won't all be sorted out until just before declaration time on Friday."

Should Daly decide Edmond has to go to Uttoxeter there could be a jockey problem.

Richard Johnson, who rode the horse at Chepstow, is likely to have to go to Sandown to partner Relkeel and Toto Toscato.
