Ben Curtis represented Ireland in this year's edition of the Seoul International Jockeys Challenge which took place last weekend.

The challenge saw riders from Brazil, South Africa, Turkey, Japan, Singapore and of course Ireland taking part against the home based Korean team with an individual competition taking place as well.

Curtis started the four race series well finishing third in the first race however he was only eighth in the second race leaving him in fifth place overall after day one.

Things didn’t get better for Curtis on the second and final day finishing last of the twelve in race three before finishing last again in the final race of the series.

Curtis finished in eighth overall with Singapore’s Soo Khoon Beng victorious with Korea’s Moon Se Young second and Turkey’s Ozcan Yildirim third.

“I love Korea,” yelled Soo Khoon Beng as he was led into the winner’s circle after winning the YTN Cup Stakes at a rain-soaked Seoul Race Park. That was hardly surprising given Singaporean’s win on US bred filly Sangnyu which was enough to secure himself an emphatic success.

The Rest Of World team won the series beating the Korean team by 114 points to 89.
