Individualiste completed a quick double at Navan for Gavin Cromwell when landing odds of 10/11 in the 2m4f Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Chase.
The grey son of Cima De Triomphe, who won twice over hurdles for Paul Nicholls, was following up a beginners’ chase victory at Thurles just over a fortnight ago.
The front-running Room To Roam was reeled in after four out and Individualiste travelled well in front approaching the penultimate fence.
The hot favourite was strongly pressed by A Wave Of The Sea at the last but found a bit extra under Keith Donoghue in the closing stages to beat that rival by half a length.
The pair pulled eight and a half lengths clear of Mighty Oak Lad in third.
Cromwell said, "He had to battle, I was definitely a little bit worried for a while.
“He got the jump at the last and he was gutsy enough. A Wave Of The Sea is a classy horse on his day.
“We'll see where we go from here. He travelled quite well there so we could potentially come back in trip a bit.”
Cromwell was also on the mark in the previous 2m handicap chase with 10/1 shot Midnight It Is
