There was a tremendous conclusion to the Kuroshio At Compas Stallions Maiden at Naas with Watercolormemories just prevailing for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane.
Two brave fillies battled it out at the business end in this near six furlong heat, and at the finish Watercolormemories edged it by a nose.
There was two and a half lengths back to Sir Sedric in third and the successful Dragon Pulse filly was building on the promise shown in four outings at two.
Glenburnie representative Shane Lyons said afterwards: “We’re delighted for the owners, the Kalmanson’s from South Africa. They have been very patient owners and have been with us a few years now. Mags O’Toole is buying stock for them.
“It was trainer error running her in Dundalk as being what she’s by she’d love this ground.
“She battled well there and we’ll find something on that type of ground. Hopefully she’ll progress for her owners and join them in South Africa eventually.”
O.J. Orr, rider of Harannda trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran too free early on.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Harannda, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
