Versatile performer Count Of Carabass completed a double of November wins at Dundalk this evening as the Hilary McLoughlin trained gelding landed the concluding Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap under jockey Chris Hayes.
The son of Ad Valorem's wins have been gained on going descriptions ranging from good to firm ground, on turf, to heavy and today secured his second all-weather win over Dundalk's seven furlongs distance.
Each of the eight year old's six wins have been gained under jockey Hayes and following the race McLoughlin said Wit took us four hours to get up tonight, in the rain, so a win makes it all worthwhile.
“We thought the handicapper was harsh on him but obviously he knows more than we do!
“Dundalk is so consistent, it's always on the slow side of good, and because they fan out and he comes from behind usually here he gets his run.
“He's been the unluckiest horse for all these years because we've alway had a summer campaign and it's just been so hard.
“We always thought he would do this, given the chance, and he just seems to be in great form. We'll keep going with him now.”
