Complete Sizing quickened away nicely to run out a cosy winner of the concluding hunters chase at Clonmel this afternoon for Jim Dreaper and Jamie Codd.
The top amateur proved a class act on the Network gelding as he switched him off out the back before delivering his mount in the straight. Clounts Glory and 4/7 shot Saint Benedict fought it out going to the second last but Codd was in their slipstream.
With the front two untidy at the penultimate fence Complete Sizing soon took over and was in full control on the run-in as he posted a six-length win over the hotpot.
Complete Sizing was making his first start since finishing well beaten in a similar contest at Downpatrick almost a year ago.
The trainer's son and assistant Tom Dreaper said:- “Jamie was top class — you can leg him up and let him do what he wants.
“This horse won his first four point-to-points for the Potts and we thought he might be a National horse in time. It didn’t work out and he has been a lead horse at home this year.
“He was going to go point-to-pointing but when that was scrapped we said we’d give this a rattle. I thought he’d do four years ago what he’s done today — it’s been a long road.
“He needs soft ground and we’ll look for another hunter chase. The ground will dictate where we go.”
