Classic winners on the mark with newcomer Implement This year's Classic heroes trainer Ken Condon, owner Robert Ng and jockey Shane Foley combined for another win at Roscommon today, as Implement (7/1 — 11/2) made a winning debut in the Murray Ambulance Maiden. The trio won this year's Irish 2,000 Guineas with Romanised, himself a debutante winner as a two year old, and Implement today, as a three year old, did well to win on debut having raced green in the early stages. The winning son of Holy Roman Emperor picked up well late on and in the end passed leader King Of Leinster, rated 69, close home to record a half length win. Condon wasn't present but winning jockey Foley, completing a double on the day, later stated “they went good and hard and it fell into his lap a bit. “He had a bit done without having too much done for his first run and it probably wasn't the strongest race in the world but its nice to get a bracket with him. “He'll definitely improve from it. I gave him a few thumps when it was there for the winning; usually you wouldn't be that hard on them first time out but when they are there for the taking you have to take them.” Quotes from Gary Carson
