Aidan O'Brien is eyeing a suitable prep ahead of City Of Troy's potential crack at the Breeders' Cup Classic on dirt at Del Mar in November.
The son of Justify enhanced his body of work by breaking Sea The Stars' track record in the Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday.
The Breeders' Cup now looms on the agenda.
O’Brien said: “We were very happy with him and Ryan (Moore) gave him a beautiful ride. We think he’s ready for the next step now.
“The lads are talking about going for the Classic with him and if he’s going for the Classic, we’ll have to give him the best preparation we can give him over here.
“That will probably mean going to Southwell or one of those tracks. He’ll have to get on a plane as he needs to travel and have a nice workout somewhere.
“Hopefully, we’ll prepare him the best we can to give him the chance to run his best race in America. It’s a tall order but we’ll always dream, and it will be exciting to see.”
City Of Troy has also landed the Epsom Derby and Coral-Eclipse at Sandown this season prior to York's impressive performance off the front.
