Gallo Dell Cielo got up late in a thrilling three-way finish to the first division of the 47-65 handicap at Gowran Park.

Robin Donaghue-Leahy produced her mount with a challenge in the centre inside the final furlong as five horses fought it out in the closing stages.

It boiled down to three near the line with the Pat Flynn-trained gelding sticking his head out at the post to gain a short-head win over Wrist Art with the same margin back to Poppadom in third.

The 7/1 winner had traded as big as 20/1 this morning.

Flynn said:- “He’s a lovely horse and has taken a while to come to hand.

“He’s owned by Jeff Mahany who is a vet in Savannah, Georgia.

“His mother Art Scene won a couple of races for us and I think he’ll want an extra two furlongs in time.”
