Chavajod strikes again for Coakley Chavajod bagged his second win of the winter campaign at Dundalk when claiming the mile handicap for Denis Coakley. The Toronado gelding had struck over course and distance early last month and went to post an 11/2 shot tonight, having been mid-division in a rated race on his last visit. Paddy Harnett, stepping in for a spare ride, produced his mount to lead at the furlong pole and he stuck on well in the closing stages to record a half-length win over Hightimeyouwon. The winning trainer was leading up and Harnett said: "Denis does a great job with his horses. He keeps everything so fresh, but fit as well. "Obviously, Wesley (Joyce) was ill today and I feel for him just for missing a winner, but it is great to be able to be put up on this lad today. "On a going day, he won't lie down. When I did get to the front, horses were coming around him and trying to battle against him but he has such a big heart. He was up for a fight. "Fair play to him, he did it well."
