Chatho wins Naas bumper for Fleming/Connell The Alan Fleming trained, Barry Connell owned Borderline Chatho overcame a 13 month layoff to win the concluding Tipper Road (Pro-Am) Bumper at Naas today, stretching clear in the closing stages to win well under jockey Stephen Clements. The son of Born King moved to the front with a furlong to race and in the end scored a length and a half win over Burren Life. Afterwards Fleming stated “he’s a nice horse and he’s going to make a lovely hurdler and chaser. “He’s very honest and is a good moving horse. You never get a bad bumper at Naas and we were a little nervous he might have been a bit ring-rusty but he looks to have a lot of ability. He has such a big stride he finds things very easy and we’re delighted for them to start running well again. “Barry (Connell) has mentioned the Cheltenham Bumper but we’ll see what he wants to do in the next few weeks.” By Tom Weekes
