Dessie Hughes and Bryan Cooper combined to land a double on the card as Off The Charts claimed the 2m6f handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse.
The JP McManus-owned gelding was sent off one of three 4/1 co-favourites and was produced to challenge at the second last.
He went on going to the last, from long-time leader Another Challenge and stayed on strongly to record a length-and-a-half success over Day Dream Boy
Another Challenge, also a 4/1 co-favourite, was third while the other market leader, Not For Burning was fourth.
“It's good that he's won anyway. He went up 4lb the last day for finishing second,” said Hughes afterwards.
The winning trainer also reflected on the prospect of losing stable jockey Cooper, who has been strongly linked with the Gigginstown job:-
"I'm not that pleased. It's a good job for him but a big blow for me.
"It's taken me four years to make him. He's mature now and at his best. He'll still ride for me, hopefully as much as he can."
Hughes and Cooper had also landed the opener with Lieutenant Colonel
