Cargo records poignant win after owner's recent death The Philip Fenton-trained Secret Cargo landed the spoils in an incident packed Owenmore Handicap Chase at Sligo. Niall Moore had to navigate trouble a couple of times on the eventual winner, who was hampered at the third last and penultimate fence. Zagnzig was driven into the lead three from home in the two-mile-five contest but unshipped Simon Torrens two out after a blunder. Long-time leader Magic Piper was left in front again but was joined over the last by 10/1 shot Secret Cargo, who got a slightly better jump and went on to post a half length win over Eddies Pride. Mutual Respect, who was just in behind in third, fell at the last and hampered Arthur's Baby, who unseated Gavin Brouder. Thankfully all horses and riders appeared none-the-worse afterwards. It was a poignant win by the Mahler gelding as his owner Michael Daly died last Sunday. Niall Moore said afterwards: "Michael was a great supporter of the yard and it's going to be a lot different without him. I'm sure he was looking down on us. "Philip had the horse in great form and he stayed on well. He missed the last but he's a tough horse and put his head down and battled the whole way to the line. That's what you want and I'm delighted with him." (Quotes by Mark Nunan)
