Jim Culloty was today handed the ride on Village King in Saturday's Martell Grand National.
His mount, trained by Philip Hobbs, is quoted at 40-1 for the race by Ladbrokes having won at Cheltenham in December but finished only sixth in the William Hill National Hunt Chase there last month.
"Jim is very much looking forward to it," said Culloty's agent Chris Broad.
The jockey will be hoping for better luck than on his only previous National ride, when falling at the first on Hobbs's Full Of Oats in 1997.
Glenn Tormey has been booked to Royal Predica (33-1) for Martin Pipe at Aintree.
