Relatively speaking it's a case of the Naas calm today before the Leopardstown storm tomorrow but there still looks to be a number of worthwhile investments on offer.
The first of them could be Creux Noir in the four-year-old hurdle. Dermot Weld's charge has been placed on both his hurdle starts, the first a creditable third to Young American and last time when just edged out over the course and distance by Eternal Night.
Creux Noir's main danger this afternoon could be Mouse Morris's Boulevard who improved significantly from his debut to run third to Topacio at Punchestown.
The most valuable pot of the day is the Beginners Chase named after that remarkably successful course specialist Opera Hat.
On previous form behind Alexander Banquet, Lyreen Wonder is the obvious choice having had Sawa-Id a distance back in third on that occasion. However, Sawa-Id was eased when his chance was gone and has since run a decent second to Star Service here. Tom Rudd's mount is just preferred.
Nibalda looked very unlucky last weekend when unseating Barry Geraghty in the Beginners Chase won by Greenstead and on testing ground will be hard to beat in the handicap chase while the other handicap chase can fall to the bottom weight Go For Grogan who also has Neil Mulholland's useful 5lb claim.
Clan Royal should be more forward now for the other maiden hurdle.
