Harry Rogers dominated proceedings at Cork yesterday by saddling a 179/1 double. Rogers captured the featured Cork Stakes with seasonal debutante Moon Unit, who justified support from 20/1 to 11/1, when beating British challenger Dragon Flyer with the capable Danny Grant.
Rogers was earlier credited with his initial flat success of the year courtesy of Mikes Baby in the opening Macroom Handicap. Mikes Baby incidentally was providing jockey Fran Berry with his fourth success this season and she will now be aimed at another six furlong handicap.
The David Wachman-trained Damson created a fsvourable impression by sluicing home with Jamie Spencer in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (two-year-old) Fillies Maiden.
Damson is jointly owned by Susan Magnier and Michael Tabor and she will now take her chance in a Stakes race over six to seven furlongs.
