COCHRANE TO REST UNTIL THE WEEKEND

Ray Cochrane will miss his rides at Goodwood today as he continues to recover from the effects of a fall on Monday.

The jockey had to sit out his book of mounts on Tuesday and will require another couple of days' rest before he is ready to return to action.

His agent Andrew Gilbert said: "He won't be riding today, he's going to give it another couple of days.

"He's a bit sore and needs more time to get over the bruising.

"He'll be back on Friday or Saturday, he won't be riding tomorrow."

Cochrane was injured when his mount Tarcoola fell in a pile-up in the Levy Board Handicap at Bath.

Champion jockey Kieren Fallon was given a four-day ban for careless riding after the local stewards decided he was to blame for the incident.

Cochrane was due to ride Britannia for Ian Balding in the day's feature race at Goodwood, the Victor Chandler Lupe Stakes.
