Nice One Clare, a leading fancy in some lists for the Vodafone Stewards' Cup at Goodwood, will miss Saturday's race, it was announced today.
Pip Payne's filly was one of the chief sufferers in a rough race for the Tote International Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
'She won't go in the Stewards' Cup - she's injured,' Payne declared.
'She got knocked over at Ascot and has one or two nasty little cuts.
'It was caused by those drawn high crossing over which meant there was big traffic congestion and being on the small side she suffered.'
Nice One Clare had been William Hill's 8-1 favourite for the Stewards' Cup.
