Godolphin's China Visit headed 13 late nominations for the US triple crown races unveiled last night.
The three-year-old was briefly made favourite for the Sagitta 2000 Guineas after an impressive win in last month's United Arab Emirates Derby at Nad Al Sheba until his target was announced to be the Kentucky Derby.
UAE Derby third Curule was also added to the field for the three US Classics, at a cost of US6,000 (£3,700).
The late nominees - whose number could grow with the arrival of mail postmarked no later than April 1st - take the horses engaged in the triple crown race to a total of 400.
Others can be added at the supplementary stages - at a cost of US150,000 (£92,000) for the Kentucky Derby and US100,000 (£61,000) for the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
