CHELTENHAM CONTINUES TO DRY OUT

Following the recent dry spell good going is expected for the Cheltenham Festival which gets under way on Tuesday.

The ground is currently described as good, good to soft in places but after walking the course this morning Simon Claisse, who takes over as clerk of the course from Philip Arkwright next season, said: "We may change the ground to good officially later today.

"At present it's still good with good to soft patches but we will take an official look around midday. But there's no way it's going to get any faster as there is so much moisture in the ground and we had a heavy dew last night."
