Trainer Mick Channon today won his appeal against a controversial "non-triers"' punishment.
But jockey Michael Tebbutt failed to get a penalty arising from the same case overturned by the Jockey Club disciplinary committee and must serve a 10-day suspension.
The pair went to Portman Square to fight a judgement by stewards at Windsor last Monday that they were at fault over the running of Spirit Of Light.
Channon's argument that he was not guilty of any wrongdoing under the "non-triers" rules was accepted, with his £#1,500 fine and a 40-day ban for the horse both quashed.
But the committee upheld a verdict that Tebbutt "had not taken all reasonable and permissible measures in the final three furlongs" when Spirit Of Light finished seventh in an extended one-mile handicap.
They confirmed his suspension, which takes effect on days when Flat racing is scheduled in Britain from Wednesday until a week on Saturday.
