Leading trainer Henry Cecil has been questioned on suspicion of drink driving and released without charge pending further inquiries, police sources said today.
Cecil, 57, of Newmarket, Suffolk, was arrested in Ashley, Cambridgeshire, on Sunday after a blue Mercedes car was involved in a collision with two pedestrians who suffered minor injuries.
A police spokeswoman refused to confirm or deny Cecil's identity but said a 57-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol. He had been released on police bail without charge until August 15.
