Paul Carberry was today cleared to ride Bobbyjo in Saturday's Martell Grand National.
He has not ridden since the Cheltenham Festival and had feared that a back injury would prevent his teaming up again with last year's winner.
But the jockey has been given the go-ahead for Aintree by Dr Walter Halley, chief medical officer of the Turf Club, after scrutiny of scans taken of the injured part of his back.
"It's a bit of a relief," Halley said. "There has been so much doubt about the matter."
Carberry added: "I'm delighted but I never had any doubt about whether or not I would be fit.
"I've just ridden Bobbyjo in a work-out and he's in super form. I hope the ground dries out for Saturday and I would like to see him have 10st on his back. But you can't have everything!"
Carberry also rides four horses for Noel Meade at the meeting, including Frozen Groom in the Sandeman Maghull Novices' Chase on Thursday.
Carberry will also ride Bobbyjo's stable-companion Status for his father Tommy in the John Hughes Trophy Chase over the National fences on Friday.
