Gordon Elliott reports exciting mare Brigherdaysahead ‘in good nick’ and on course to make her seasonal debut at Down Royal early next month.
The Gigginstown-owned daughter of Kapgarde has only tasted defeat once from seven starts when runner-up to Golden Ace in the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival but impressively recorded a Grade 1 victory at Aintree the following month in the Turners Mersey Novices’ Hurdle.
The powerfully built five-year-old has a choice of engagements at Down Royal as Elliott explained.
“We have a novice chase and a second season hurdle, so we’ve not just decided which road we are going to go yet. I’ll talk to Eddie and Michael and we’ll see.
“She’s in good nick and she could go either way. She’s a very good mare.
“She’s like a big gelding and we’re very lucky to have her.”
