Bombadero all the way at Wexford With 4/9 shot Champagne Agent failing miserably to live up to his billing it was left to the always in the van Bombadero to take the Vinegar Hill (C & G) Maiden Hurdle under Davy Condon at Wexford. Denis Cullen's winner made virtually all and in the end he convincingly beat Lastofthepilots by nine lengths. The aforementioned odds-on favourite, Champagne Agent was four and a half lengths back in third. Cullen remarked: "I'm delighted with that. We have had a frustrating time with him and he had a wind op. We’ve been trying to win a race with him for two years and we have always thought a bit of him so I'm delighted he finally done it today. "I'm delighted too for his owners Brenda, John and Helen Norton. They have been very patient with him. We will see what the handicapper gives him now and we might go for a winners race with him now."
