Enda Bolger registered his 13th win as a trainer, and his first since 2010, in the La Touche Cup at Punchestown today, when providing jockey Mark Walsh with his first success in the FBD sponsored event on the J.P. McManus owned Quantitativeeasing
Morning favourite Josies Orders was an absentee and while his jockey Nina Carberry switched to Bolger's other runner Cantlow Quantitativeeasing held that rival at bay for all of the final mile and in the end scored a three lengths win.
Quantitativeeasing finished second in last year's renewal of the race to Uncle Junior who today retired from racing at the grand old age of 15. Uncle Junior was the winner of 12 races, which included two previous renewals (2012 and 2015) of the marathon race.
Following Quantitativeeasing's win, Bolger later stated “that was exciting and he never missed a beat. He did that here with Nina (Carberry) in December as well and he loved being up there.
“It was a great ride by Mark and I'm delighted with Cantlow's run as well. It's a great race to win and that's my first win since 2010. Good ground was a big factor for both horses.
“He was a very good horse before I ever got him and it was just a matter of changing gears with him and jumping technique but he always had it from the word go.
“We'll see how he comes out of this, get him home and see how he is. We have plenty in the race on Saturday.
“Josies Orders gave a couple of coughs coming off the lorry and we weren't 100 percent happy with him.
“He's only eight so we thought it was better to be cautious.”
