Blackmore among the Irish in action at Cartmel

While the Oaks takes centre stage this afternoon, there is plenty of Irish interest cross channel, with Rachael Blackmore among those in action at Cartmel.

Teaming up with her boss Henry de Bromhead, Blackmore takes the ride on Emotivo in the Cartmel Female Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

Successful on her most recent start over flights at Cheltenham in April, the Benjamin Halsall-owned four-year-old is prominent in the market for this 11-runner contest.

Blackmore's partner Brian Hayes also makes the journey across to the Cumbria venue, teaming up with Co. Derry-trainer Noel Kelly for two rides.

Our Zebo looks the leading hope of Kelly's three runners, with Oran McGill partnering this point-to-point winner in the William Hill Proper Betting Handicap Chase.

Stuart Crawford is also represented in this long distance affair, saddling the lowly rated Ambush Annie.

John McConnell has acquired the services of conditional Dylan Kidd for his two runners.

The Rockview Stables handler has recent Kilbeggan runner-up Dinoland in the opening William Hill ITV Opener Special Today Novices' Hurdle, while his Roscommon winner West Away heads 13 declared for the feature William Hill Cumbria Crystal Cup Handicap Hurdle.

Meanwhile at Market Rasen, Ian Donoghue's O'Faolains Glory goes in the Unibet Proud To Support GoRacingGreen Handicap Chase at 5pm, while the Diego Dias-trained Comein Comein is one of 12 in the opener at Doncaster this evening.
