The front-running tactics that Barneys Honour employed to take a Lingstown point-to-point, were put to use again with the five-year-old in the Happy Valentines Day Maiden Hurdle.
Shane Jackson 's mount was headed after the last by the favourite, Majestic Oak but as he did when taking his 'point,' the son of City Honours fought back to prevail by a length and three quarters.
Successful trainer, Philip Rothwell said: "This wasn't a wonderful maiden hurdle but I'm delighted to have a winner. He will go handicapping now and chasing will be his game." (EM)
