BUSINESS IS STILL THE BEST

22/03/03: See More Business is still the best British chaser in training, despite finishing only fourth in the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup last Thursday.

That is the verdict of official British Horseracing Board handicapper Phil Smith whose eagerly-awaited post-Festival ratings were revealed today.

Despite disappointing punters, who sent him off favourite to retain the blue riband when finishing only fourth, See More Business has been dropped just 2lb to a rating off 175 with the race's winner Looks Like Trouble raised 4lb to 174.

But the biggest rises were handed out to the third and fifth, Strong Promise and Lake Kariba, who have soared 23lb and 22lb to new marks of 168 and 167 respectively.

On the two-mile front, another beaten favourite heads the ratings with Queen Mother Champion Chase third Flagship Uberalles dropped 2lb to 171 with winner Edredon Bleu raised 6lb to 166.

Runner-up Direct Route remains on 165.
