Ray Cochrane has been forced to give up his three scheduled rides at Goodwood today following a heavy fall at Bath on Monday.
He was the main sufferer in pile-up in the Levy Board Handicap and was lucky to escape serious injury as his mount Tarcoola fell and brought down Mr Bergerac, partnered by John Stack.
Champion jockey Kieren Fallon was given a four-day ban for careless riding after the local stewards decided he was to blame for the incident.
The Fallon-ridden Dorissio appeared to tighten up Tarcoola on the home bend half a mile out forcing Cochrane`s mount to snatch up and fall and as a result bringing down the chasing Mr Bergerac.
Cochrane was brought back from the melee in an ambulance and after complaining of a sore neck was allowed to leave the track.
'I`m just a bit bruised and won`t be riding today,' Cochrane said this morning. 'It certainly was a rough incident and I feel as though I`ve been run over by a double-decker bus.
'I`ve got an appointment with the physio at 10.30.'
Cochrane was due to ride Omaha City (Newton Investment Management Stakes), Petit Marquis (Tote Trifecta Stakes) and Premiere Valentino (www.gloriousgoodwood.co.uk Maiden Stakes) this afternoon.
