BRAXTON FOR PADDY POWER

Colonel Braxton will have the valuable Paddy Power Chase at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting as his first main target of the season, writes Alan Magee.

`He`s been rated 136 by the handicapper, and I`m thinking of going for the Paddy Power,` said trainer Dessie Hughes. `There is plenty of time after that to take on the top horses, and he`ll have a run somewhere before Leopardstown.`

Hughes was speaking at Clonmel where he saddled Central House to take the opening two mile maiden hurdle in convincing fashion. `He`s a good jumper, and may go for a novice at Punchestown`s Durkan Chase meeting next month,` said the Curragh handler.
