Britain's leading Tattersalls bookmakers have formed an action group at a meeting at The Cafe Royal in London today.
They are angered by proposals agreed at a meeting of the National Joint Pitch Council on Monday to allow rails bookmakers to display odds on boards.
Many Tattersalls bookmakers are upset by the decision having recently purchased pitches at NJPC auctions and feel that the proposals have been rushed through without considering their position.
Spokesman John White said: "The meeting unanimously agreed to contest the proposals as they stand now.
"They are unfairly against Tattersalls bookmakers no matter whether their seniority is one or 100.
"We had bookmakers from all over the country and Ireland and they are determined to fight all the way."
The group have also engaged solicitors Herbert Smith of London to help their cause.
A final decision upon whether the NJPC's proposals are accepted by the Levy Board is expected in April.
