Bobby Grant, one of Peter Beaumont's four Martell Grand National entries, could take on Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite See More Business at Newbury next week.
He has won three of his five races this season including two at Haydock, where he most recently failed by just three-quarters of a length to give The Last Fling 9lb in the Bet Direct Peter Marsh Chase.
The De Vere Gold Cup back at the Merseyside course is a possibility for the gelding but Beaumont said: "We are in no rush and I will have to speak to the owner but there is also the AON Chase at Newbury. He will have plenty of weight but See More Business could frighten a few off.
"Then there is the Racing Post Chase at Kempton so we will have to see but wherever he goes there will need to be plenty of give in the ground."
