BEST SET TO GO BACK TO WORK

King's Best will return to work at the end of the week after tests on the Sagitta 2000 Guineas winner revealed him to be free of injury.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt missed Saturday's Vodafone Derby after sustaining what was believed to be a recurrence of a muscle injury on Thursday and tests were carried out over the weekend to try and pinpoint the problem.

Joe Mercer, racing manager to owner Saeed Suhail, said today: "The results of the tests were satisfactory and he will return to normal cantering on Friday.

"We can't find anything wrong with him and it seems that he just tweaked a muscle."

The three-year-old holds entries at Royal Ascot which starts a week tomorrow but he seems likely to bypass the meeting.

"I would think that Royal Ascot would be ruled out," he added.

"We have nothing specific in mind for him but it's a long year."
