Beau, winner of last season`s Whitbread Gold Cup in spectacular fashion, will make his seasonal reappearance at his local course Cheltenham on Saturday.
The exciting seven-year-old progressed from novice chasing to take on and beat seasoned handicappers at Sandown and his first target of the new campaign is the Intervet Trophy Handicap Chase over almost three and a half miles.
He is also among the entries for the Edward Hanmer Memorial Chase at Haydock on Saturday, but trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies said today: 'I think he will probably go to Cheltenham and Carl Llewellyn will ride.
'We will run Bosuns Mate in the Haydock race - we haven`t got a jockey booked for him yet.'
Edmond, winner of last season`s Coral Welsh National at Chepstow, is also set to make his seasonal bow in the Intervet Chase.
Henry Daly`s eight-year-old is returning to the fray off the back of a successful 1999-2000 campaign when he won the first three of his five races.
Daly said: 'Basically, he will run. It slightly depends on the ground and things but I should not think it will change much there and the softer the better for him really.
'He seems to be in good form and he won first time out last season.
'We will see how we go at Cheltenham and then see what we are going to do from then on. We will be trying to aim him at the long-distance races in the mud really.'
Edmond is without a rider at the moment and Daly added: 'Obviously if Richard Johnson did not have to go to Ireland and was available he would be offered the ride.'
