BEAT HOLLOW HEADS THRESHER ENTRY

Vodafone Derby favourite Beat Hollow heads the list of 36 entries revealed today for the Thresher Classic Trial at Sandown Park on Saturday week.

Henry Cecil's colt tops William Hill's betting for the premier Classic on 8-1 on the strength of his impressive debut at Yarmouth last year on his only start to date.

Sir Michael Stoute has won the Sandown race with subsequent Derby winners Shergar and Shahrastani and last year with Fantastic Light. He has six entries this time, including King's Best and Adilabad, who both line-up for tomorrow's Craven Stakes at Newmarket.

John Gosden has just one horse, Buckminster, in the 10-furlong Group Three contest, which he has won four times in the last eight runnings.

Racing Post Trophy third Ekraar - another Craven runner - is also in the Thresher and David Elsworth has entered Island Sound, who runs in the John Mowlem Feilden Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.

As well as Shergar and Shahrastani the Thresher Classic Trial has thrown up such good horses as Henbit (Derby), Old Vic (French and Irish Derbys) and Pentire (King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes).
