BACH OUT TO MAINTAIN WINNING RECORD

Bach is set to defend his unbeaten record in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt, winner of the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and on his seasonal debut at the Dublin course in April, faces three rivals.

They include last season's National Stakes winner Sinndar from John Oxx's stable, who was beaten by Grand Finale here last month, who will be joined by stablemate Shayadi.

The other runner is the Dermot Weld-trained Muakaad, an impressive winner over course and distance on his one start to date.

Michael Grassick's unbeaten Preseli heads the nine declarations for the Listed Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial on the same card.

And Vodafone Derby entry Bashkir (O'Brien) is one of eight runners in the Listed Jurys Clifton Ford Amethyst Stakes.
